We left for San Ramon, on the way we see the impressive Ulcumayo River canyon. We arrive to the New Italy (Nueva Italia) annex to visit two beautiful waterfalls called Blue Yacu and The Sacred. Leaving the vehicles we will start walking within the forest through the Chavez Canyon Bridge, until reaching the plateau of Pampa Hermosa, where the oldest and largest cedar trees in South America (600 years) are. Across the road you can appreciate the great diversity of flora and fauna as woolly monkeys (monos choros), armadillos, coatis, Orioles and several other species that abound in the National Shrine. In the afternoon we visit a lek of Cock of the Rock (Lek de Gallitos de las Rocas) - (Rupícola Peruviana) where we can observe the national bird of Peru. We return by the same mystical path. Return to La Merced.
